More about Therapists in Oxford Alabama

Addictions are usually very difficult to treat, and the best addiction treatment depends on the type of addiction, the severity of the problem, the person’s personal characteristics, the environment the person lives in and the overall health of the person. Aftercare: An individualized plan designed by each client and therapist to increase his or her chance of recovery after completion of formal therapy. Animal-assisted therapy: An interdisciplinary form of addiction treatment that involves long-term care of and access to animals in a larger recovery treatment plan. Inpatient: An addict who lives in his or her own house, usually at home with family members or friends. Onsite: An outpatient drug treatment facility. Outpatient: An individual is treated in a private, medically supervised facility. Residential Treatment: An addict who lives in a residential rehab facility or drug rehabilitation center. Inpatient or Residential Treatment: The most common form of treatment. The addict is given medical attention in a fully-staffed addiction treatment center. Onsite: An outpatient treatment center that accepts clients who can not afford full-time hospitalization. Outpatient: An individual who goes into the hospital to be treated for an addiction. Therapists are trained to help addicts with both inpatient and outpatient treatments. They are qualified and licensed medical doctors, therapists, psychiatric technicians, licensed mental health counselors and licensed marriage and family therapists. Each substance abuse treatment facility has its own unique approach to addiction treatment. However, treatment programs in substance abuse centers share common aspects, including the use of medication and mental therapy, as well as group counseling. Each of these components should work in combination to achieve the highest level of recovery possible.
