Isabella Thomas-Heinsohn is an American psychotherapist who has trained in both psychiatric and behavioral therapy. She has a passion for helping people find healing from mental disorders and she has been working with people of all ages in many different settings. She specializes in both family therapy and individual counseling.

In addition to her work as a psychotherapist, Thomas-Heinsohn has published a number of books that have provided insights into the process of grief. She has also written over seventy articles, books, and magazine articles on a variety of subjects related to depression and mental illness. She is a past president of the National Association for the Study of Depression and is currently serving as its director. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Miami.

Although Thomas-Heinsohn’s focus is on helping people cope with depression and other mental disorders, she also has interests in spirituality and also writes a weekly column about her work with readers. Her writing style can be described as introspective, yet at times it can be quite funny. She continues to research and write about mental illnesses and she is a member of the American Psychological Association.
