As an advocate for people that are in drug addiction, I am always looking out for the best therapists and support groups to help these folks. Unfortunately there are not many good substance abuse centers in Auburn. So, when I came across Dan Schwartz, I was very interested to know more about this so-called “new rehab center”. So I decided to go check it out. It turns out that this “rehab center” doesn’t really have a rehab facility at all! Instead, it is a small, unknown, residential treatment center for people with substance addictions.

The main purpose of this place is to provide “in person” counseling, but they don’t really have a program to provide formal education or even therapeutic treatment for people with a substance abuse problem. In short, this is not a good place to be if you are suffering from a substance abuse problem, because they don’t actually treat people as patients who need to be cured. Instead, they seem more like a drug addiction counselor trying to find quick fixes.

At first I thought this place was not suitable for me, because I do not consider myself a “patient”. However, when I talked to a few of the other people who had come for substance abuse help, it turned out that many of them had been treated very well by this drug addiction counselor. So, I guess that I did not feel disappointed. I was more than impressed. I would highly recommend this center to anyone seeking a substance abuse help.
